The Client

Aricks Australia is a growing business operating in the industrial and manufacturing sector. With increasing demand and evolving operational needs, they made the decision to relocate and build a new facility that could better support their growth trajectory. This was their first time undertaking a project of this size and complexity, marking a significant milestone for the company.

The Brief

Aricks had outgrown their existing facility, which had become a bottleneck for operations and future growth. Their brief was clear: deliver a purpose-built facility that would consolidate their operations under one roof, support increased production capacity, and visually represent the quality and professionalism of their brand. As first-time owner-builders, they wanted a partner who could guide them through the entire process, from design to delivery, while allowing them to remain hands-on throughout.

The Scope

Steelcorp was engaged to deliver a complete structural and building package, playing a key role as a delivery partner from concept to completion. Our scope included:

Engineering and Design Support – Full structural engineering and design assistance, including initial concept development.

Shop Detailing and 3D Modelling – Production of comprehensive shop drawings and 3D models.

Structural Steel Package – Supply, manufacture, and delivery of all structural steel, including the primary building structure, internal mezzanines and canopies and support frames.

Cladding and Rainwater Goods – Supply and installation of cladding systems, gutters, downpipes, and flashings.

Concrete Slab Works – Installation of the main concrete slab built to withstand operational loads.

Facade Works – Supply and installation of custom-designed facades to meet aesthetic requirements.

Steelcorp also provided visual concept drawings that gave the Aricks team confidence to make informed design decisions throughout the process.

The Challenges

One of the key challenges was Aricks' need to maximise every square metre of their site. A traditional stormwater management approach, such as large rainwater tanks, would have significantly reduced usable space. Instead, a bespoke solution was implemented: a 40m³ on-site detention basin was integrated within the carpark and hardstand area, made possible by shaping the site contours and installing multiple stormwater pits.

The Result

The completed facility has transformed Aricks’ operations. With all business activities now housed under one roof, the team enjoys streamlined workflows, enhanced collaboration, and the capacity to scale operations as they continue to grow.

From an architectural perspective, the building goes beyond functionality. Glazed sections, cosmetic facades, and a considered layout ensure the structure reflects Aricks’ high standards and leaves a lasting impression on clients and visitors alike.

The project is a testament to what can be achieved through collaboration and shared vision. Aricks now has a facility that not only meets their current needs but is also equipped to support the business long into the future – operationally, commercially, and visually.
